I just want to say a THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for every who got involved to help the cause and making this fundraiser everything that it could be. Make A Difference was started by myself as an idea on Thursday 14th November 2013 and on the 18th it was live and running. What started with only one person led to over 40 volunteers. Not only the number was what made me smile, it's the people that wanted to come together, not just Filipinos but from every background, to help people that are in our need right now. The team was creative and inventive, we did a bake sale on one day, had music students perform and even held Westminster University's first PHILIPPINES DAY. In my eyes this was something that is truly special. It was an amazing experience.
The ending to the campaign was in The Philippines where I got to go to the charity offices of the Philippine Red Cross and Sagip Kapamilya and spoke to them face to face about the current situation. The country continues to fight through despite the tragedies and damage, one thing I learnt is the Filipino pride always stays strong.
I want to thank all the sponsors, volunteers and people who donated, everyone made a difference. Without you, this fundraiser wouldn't have reached half the success that it did.
